Enjoying my “you may wear what you like” job I’ve been working Mon-Fri these past months.

Pheww. What can I say. I started applying for internship  jobs more or less serious a year ago and now I finally bumped into the perfect open spot just two weeks ago. And as luck may have it, I actually got it. Can you imagine?! (the relief and the excitement!) I am finally going to be able to finish my degree, as soon as I’ve finished this upcoming internship!

This is what I’ve been working for all my loooong and a slightly extended years at the uni.

Sometimes life seems to stand in place, but when things suddenly start to happen (and they will) it’s like they start to move really really fast.

Like just now I’m thinking, how can I already be nearly done with this internship with the coolest people ever? I’ll surely come to miss my co-worker(s) and friends; they sure made me realize how much I’d hate to work alone and without good company.

To me, baking is all about emptying your head of all that other stuff while you fully concentrate on creating your own little cake wonders.

Yesterday morning before I headed for a work shift at the gym I still work at now and then, I decided to make some Easter themed cupcakes. Mini choco eggs and food colored cocoa flakes for grass worked for this easter’s decoration setting.

Who wants a cupcake? Oh, just kidding. There’s only like 5 more left now!

Ah, Easter, I’m sssuuuuper happy to have these 3 days totally off work! (Haven’t had 2 off-days in a row since I started the internship some 2 months ago). I’m going to drag my butt to gym tomorrow and Monday and naturally get some stuff done. Such as blog stuff, new online projects and raiding my closet so I can take stuff to the flea market one of these days.

I don’t know if it’s the spring sun or the retro-ish fashion icons my Tumblr feed’s been plastered with lately, but somethings got me wanting to play with 80′s cliches.  The teased curly hair and “etuheittari” as I call the teased up front in Finnish, the pink lips, the denim and the gold accessories.

Can you see me channeling 80′s Barbie gone biker, or something totally else?

 Peace! According to my B the camera made me look like I was wearing a ninja suit. Ninja? Hmm, not bad!

Would spring come faster if we’d all start wearing blue denim and leaving our winter coats home?

I had to give it a try since it was so perfectly spring-ish here in Helsinki and since I was enjoying my well-deserved first off-day from work for some two weeks. Well, I woke up in a fever and a flu yesterday while it was -15C and snowy all day, so. I’ll probs be sticking to that winter coat for a little longer after all.

Y’all know I could write another novel here on how I’ve not had time for blogging aka being the worst blogger, but I’ll leave it to this. I’m considering shutting this bloggy down with how little I manage to update nowadays, but I’m still thinking. You tell me.

Hey there my patient, pretty blog followers. I am on my second week at the new job, with a bunch of web marketing stuff, a back office clean-up and sort of some small event planning behind me. And with these outfit of the day mirror shots taken which I couldn’t resist taking via the huge ass shop mirror, of course!

The red beanie is another new daily favorite of mine. On the days I don’t mind looking that young, eh.

It’s been kind of a “wake up, go to work, go to gym and go to bed” kind of a lifestyle for me past week. Oh, just kidding it’s not like I’d actually go to gym every day, ha! But otherwise the previous was true. Maybe it’s just that with big changes like starting a new job you always feel like a lot is happening real fast and you can hardly keep up, right?

My life as we know it is quite alright though, considering that I’m now spending my days gaining work experience in a small business in fashion retail. Planning on projects, doing various communications duties, and as I get more familiar with the job, designing and making marketing materials and campaigns, and so forth. I’m only on this job for a few months but I’m happy for the new duties, responsibilities and challenges!

Aww yeahh! Well, ok, for now I’m just the girl only dreaming of the day when I’ll be cruising around on my own shiny Triumph or Ducati. First off because the motor bike driver’s licence alone costs some 800-1000€. Exactly. Although I’m currently enjoying the hobby mainly through my boyfriend who does have his own motor bike, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be hella excited for MP-messut, Scandinavia’s biggest yearly bike fair!

Fair guests included big and small bike people alike. One of the most admired bikes were the HD’s.

Can you believe how much stuff they make under the Harley Davidson brand?! Wanting to buy cute things might not be a very good reason to get kids for, but those incredibly cute little socks almost make me want to consider baby business. I mean look at those!

Some badass BMW’s, the coolest stall and jackets of the fair, and one of the “one day” priced MV Agusta’s.

My favorite section of the fair; Ducati’s. The cool guy testing out the bike is my B, the awkward looking babyface on the second Ducati is me. Couldn’t even reach the ground with my feet on that one!

Two weeks it’s been since the last post, ah, what have I been doing? I have…
… secured myself a new interesting job in sales & marketing/communications, have started a new therapeutic little hobby, treated my body better than I ever have during the past 2 years, worked out so hard I’m still sore from my at-home Nike app workout I did on Wednesday, and so on.

That does sound pretty impressive when put down on a list like that, right?

Okay I tried to make it sound as interesting as possible, but some good has happened indeed. Did I mention I’ve been on my personal little “better life” project since the holidays / new years?

It’s starting to work out. Starting from a week from now I’ll be working 5 days a week on marketing campaigns & materials etc for a small company in men’s clothing resale. We have a great small team and I’m so excited to be taking up a new challenge with my career this spring! Another important aspect of the good life project is fitness, of course. I’ve challenged myself to eat proper meals daily and to slowly increase workout intensity and sessions. That’s also something I’ve been surprisingly happy to have seen myself succeed in of late.

I’ve also challenged myself to take up new hobbies to inspire me and give me joy. Just this week, pretty much out of nowhere I decided I just had to take up amigurumi – the Japanese art of cute crocheting.  I haven’t yet decided what I’m going to do with the stuffed crocheted animals I’ll be producing but I’ve already bought a book, 2 new crochet hooks and some 10 new colors of yarn so, I’m well on my way into this new relaxing handicraft hobby.

It feels good to have found an internship job for the next few months and not just sit and wait for changes to happen, but to work on things instead. I hope you too find new things to inspire you and motivate you this year. Cheers ❤
