Cake Days – Because We All Love Cake

Ah, hello world, so this is how you look like to the 23-year-old me?

Some awwwesome cupcake cups I got for my birthday from my girl E. We all ♥ cake!

Between my previous post and this one I celebrated my 23rd birthday. Some might argue that at this age you weren't supposed to count the years anymore, but I want to be proud of my age!

Heh heh that's right... I got this perfectly suitable birthday card!

Then again - Wouldn't it be fun if I suddenly hid my age and then you'd all be thinking I was, as I often hear I look, an 18-year-old little girl - who'd just happen to be about to graduate from Uni at age 18 and would therefore have to be one heck of a genius? That'd be a nifty alias!

Maybe next year.

Now I'm here to share a few (cake) photos from my birthday;

It had snowed heavily during the night before my birthday, so I woke up to this. What a beautiful gift.

I wasn't expecting gifts but my mom surprised me with a little cosmetics bag gift in the morning.
Including the new Trésor Midnight Rose (starred By Emma Watson) eau de parfum! Sweet ♥

For b-day bakings I used a recipe from the Hummingbird Bakery's Cake Days book I got for Christmas.

This time I baked Red Velvet cupcakes for the first time, by the recipe from the Cake Days book.

The cakes were yummy, and what's almost as important is, I got to use my cupcake tower for once!

Here's a shot from the pages of the Cake Days book - it must be the prettiest & yummiest book I've seen yet.

The layout & photos are just beautiful. Here the Strawberry Daiquiri mini cupcakes - so cute.

This year my birthday included baking, breakfast with mom & dad, little new treasures and coffee with very few close friends.  The older you get, the more you realize how many "friends" you have made that never really were friends to begin with - and then again, how great those few people are that will stick in your life. And there aren't many.

Muffin much, my current combo back to staying at my parents again + turning 23 is not so flattering - but I'm sure my age will fit me just fine once things with that i.e. go back to "normal".

PS. Ok, this post had little to do with style/fashion. Next post is more style related! Cheers!

  2. I know what you mean about feeling weird being in your twenties and at home with your family. I lived 500 miles away and had to move back, now I’m a student again, doing things in reverse haha.

Your wee cakes look awesome, lots of nummy things. Curse being on a health kick :(

    • ehhh, yeh, im sure im not the only one whos had to do something like this :) i also feel like ive gone back in time a bit, but then again, im also concentrating on getting my studies done now so maybe its good this way?

      … tho ive been > 18 for, well, 5 years :D

haha yehh i guess we should take it as a compliment ;)

  5. happy belated birthday!!! i know what you mean about looking young! i’m gonna be 26 (oh dear) this year but people always say i look between the ages of 19-21 LOL

and my goodness those CUPCAKES! send some my way!!!!!!!

    • thank you!! and yehh, i guess us baby faces should just be happy we look “young” hmm? ;)
haha, cupcakes have all been eaten by now but ill send you some from the next batch i bake ;D

  6. Cupcakes are the MOST fun to make – because with pretty much the same recipe, you can do so many different kinds of cupcakes, yum. So cool that you’ve also got an actual cupcake tower -thing!

I know it’s hard living at your parents’ house when you’ve been living on your own for the past years. But you can manage it! I might have to do that too once summer comes – if/when I decide to go&travel around Australia: I would have to give up my rental flat. And when I come back -> live at my parents’ till I get a new job & place to stay at. Decisions, decisions… :P

    • hehee, yeah, i like making cupcakes too – except for when ive got these grand visions and then things dont turn out so grand in real life ;o

hmm, thanks for the support, shiri :,) and woowww, australia, i think you should go for it!! going back to living at your parents may even bring you closer to your family – but since im such a fiery person, i seem to be arguing more now. but im still thankful i get to see my family so much now.

but either way, people whove got the option to even consider moving back to their parents even for a limited time, are pretty lucky to have that option i think :3

  7. Happy Belated Birthday Keikk n_____n//

I’m 24 and I live with my mother. I pay rent just as if I was living on my own but there are PROS: 1. I don’t live alone = not lonely. 2. I get a REALLY big room and lot house space for the rent I pay. With such a rent I would be in a tiny, crowded-not enough space appartment. 3. My mom is the best roommate, I never have to complain that she is messing or isn’t cleaning.

Try to see the good side of living with your parents :) Of course, for you it might not be the best situation. I understand, some days I wish I lived by myself, or with my non-existant boyfriend, but that is life. One day at a time to your next goal!

Oh and by the way, now I’m totally going to buy that Cake Days book on Amazon. Thanks Keikk, you’re making me spend more money U_____U” LOL

    • heyyy stacey, sorry for my belated reply aaand thanks for the b-day wishes! <3

your deal with renting a room like that sounds like a working option! youre lucky if you feel like you get along well enough, im such a fiery person (and so is my mom) that i just often feel like we’d be better friends NOT living in the same house :/ but the fact that you actually rent the room makes it kind of more yours, so maybe its not that much of a mom-and-child setup anymore for you, then? :)

and, i know what you mean, really, im so lucky to have my parents place to move into now that i had no other choice. One day!!! and not everything at once, hmm?!

haha lol, go get the book! :D its worth it!!

  8. happy bday! those cupcakes look lovelyyy! i’m also turning 23 in two months, i don’t feel old but not too young anymore either :’D

  9. Happy Birthday to you! Glad that you had a great day!

  10. If you want to be a better blogger you should blog more… Just an opinion ;)

    • i know, you are right, i wish i did.
but times like now, i should first set my priorities right in a different way, so that blogging would go first. right now, there are bigger things.
which is a shame, because, blogging is one of my favorite things to do.

thank you for the comment, thats true and im glad someone comes out and says it :)
