I started Hautekeikk.com in 2008 for my love for writing, designing graphics and working on photoshop, and to share my passion for style and fashion. Planning on what-to-wear and searching for style inspiration are some of my favorite ways to put my imagination to work. To me, a well pulled together look is something to feel happy for, like an artist might feel after finishing a great new sketch.

A fun and interesting look doesn’t have to be expensive or bought from overseas. I want to give the readers of this blog an ounce of simple but personal style ideas and most importantly things to smile for. If I manage to share ideas, thoughts and inspiration as well as to gain some on the way, I am one happy blogger.

“A personal style crusade for fun, fierce casual haute”

The Blogger

Us Finns are typically identified as quiet, melancholic and stubborn yet I’ve always felt like the opposite. Excluding the stubborn part, that is, but I’d rather say ‘determined’.

I’m not your typical talkative blond Barbie, although I am talkative, quite straight forward among friends and blond unless I’ve dyed my hair. I like my Barbie heels almost as much as my go-to biker boots. I am much more of a dork, philosopher and recycling police athan you’d ever guess.

What makes my world is building a life with the man of my life, called Mr. ‘B’. I am currently busy writing my thesis to finish my Uni business studies and working a customer service job at a sports club on the side. My off-time is well spent with the boyfriend and friends, working out, baking and well, blogging.

Haute What?

Keikk pronounced like ‘cake’ is a long-time nickname and online alias of mine.
Haute refers to the fashion term Haute Couture reminding of the style side of the blog.

As a Finnish person I tend to pronounce the blog name like ‘hott-ey-cakey’ which sounds perfectly much like  ホットケーキ (hotcake), Japanese for pancakes and one of my many favorite foods. So far the blog name remains the same (since 2008) although I do see the need for an easier to spell and remember name.
